Swimming Pool Expert Pool Tips

Pool Owners

Your pool should run about 8 to 10 hours a day at a minimum to keep it from turning the dreaded color green. Platinum Pools recommend’s running your pool 12 hours a day. We know this can take its toll on your electric bill, so we have a couple of recommendations for you. These recommendations will help you save energy and will lower your electric bill without sacrificing the quality and color of your pool water.

Recommendations

During this Texas summer heat we recommend running your pool 2 times during a 24 hour period. If you run your swimming pool two different times of the day you will conserve energy and your electric bill will appreciate it.

  • Run your pool for 4
hours during 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and then run your pool again for 8 hours during the least hottest
parts of the day, which is between 10:00 pm – 4:00 am.
  • Adjust your timers as needed to meet this criteria.
  • Test your pool water. Make sure your chemicals are all in balance to keep your pool running up to par.

As our world becomes more energy conscious its important that we all try to play a role in conserving energy where we can. Let’s play smart in the sun while we conserve energy.
