Pool of the Month March 2026

In Pool of the Month by Platinum Pools

Our Pool of the Month for March 2026 isn’t just a backyard addition; it is a structural feat that bridges the gap between a challenging landscape and a safe, low-maintenance family sanctuary.

Engineering Excellence: Defying Gravity

The most impressive aspect of this build is hidden beneath the surface. Built approximately 8 feet above the ground, this pool required intensive custom engineering to ensure the structure remains perfectly stable on a significant elevation. In Houston’s varying soil conditions, a raised pool of this magnitude requires specialized piers and reinforced beam construction to prevent shifting. This project demonstrates how expert planning can turn a sloped or elevated lot into a perfectly level, stunning outdoor living space without compromising on structural integrity.

Custom Swimming Pool

Architectural Continuity: A Seamless Integration

To ensure the new construction felt like an original part of the home, the decking was topped with the same stone that came with the house. This choice in materials creates a powerful sense of architectural continuity. By matching the stone textures and tones, the pool doesn’t compete with the residence; it complements it. The dark stone coping provides a crisp, clean border for the deep blue water.

Swimming Pool Cover

The Ultimate Family Safety: The Automated Pool Cover

Because the homeowners have young children, safety was the primary driver in the design phase. This pool features a high-end automated pool cover, which is the gold standard for family-centric backyards.

  • Safety First: When the pool is not in use, the cover acts as a horizontal fence, providing an incredibly strong barrier that prevents accidental falls and gives parents total peace of mind.
  • Efficiency and Protection: Beyond safety, the cover is a massive energy saver. It dramatically reduces water evaporation and heat loss while simultaneously acting as a shield against falling leaves and debris.

Low-Maintenance Living: The In-Floor Cleaning System

To complement the debris protection of the cover, an in-floor cleaning system was integrated into the pool floor. This system is a game-changer for busy families. Rather than dealing with the clutter of manual vacuums or unsightly robotic cleaners, the in-floor heads pop up automatically to sweep debris toward the drains. This invisible labor-saver ensures that the pool is always swim-ready, allowing the family to spend their weekends enjoying the water rather than maintaining it.

A Sanctuary for All Ages

The design beautifully balances adult aesthetics with kid-friendly features. From the large tanning shelf where kids can play in shallow water to the integrated spa for evening relaxation, every square foot is optimized. This pool is magical at night as it is during a Saturday afternoon splash.

This project is a testament to what is possible when you combine quality workmanship, rigorous engineering, and a focus on family safety. It is a true sanctuary that stands tall above the rest.
