This isn’t just a custom in-ground pool; it is the literal and figurative heart of a stunning 360-degree estate. Designed for a homeowner who views their backyard as an extension of their architecture, this project showcases how thoughtful engineering, personalized artistry, and high-end water features can turn a courtyard into a world-class retreat. 

The Center of the Universe: The 360-Degree Courtyard 

The most striking aspect of this design is the home’s unique footprint. The residence was constructed as a 360-degree home, encircling a central courtyard where the pool serves as the focal point. Because the pool is nestled within the very walls of the home, the designers and our construction team focused heavily on accessibility and flow. 

To ensure this space was as functional as it was beautiful, we implemented a dual-access design. We integrated seamless entry points on both sides of the courtyard, allowing residents to transition from any part of the home to the water with ease. Whether you are coming from the primary suite or the outdoor kitchen, the pool is always just a few steps away making the “pool lifestyle” an effortless part of daily life. 

A Symphony of Senses: Fire, Water, and Custom Artistry 

A pool becomes an experience when you engage more than just your sense of sight. For this project, the client wanted a sensory journey that moved through sound, temperature, and light. The centerpiece of this sensory experience is the incredible array of custom water and fire features. 

The client’s vision began with the fine details, specifically the selection of custom tile that wraps the waterline, providing a personalized aesthetic that complements the home’s Mediterranean elegance. Beyond the tile, the water features were engineered to create a multi-sensory environment: 

• The Trickle Wall: A meticulously designed wall that produces a gentle, rhythmic trickle, providing a soothing auditory backdrop that masks neighborhood noise and promotes deep relaxation. 

• The Fire/Water Bowl: A large, raised architectural wall featuring an integrated bowl where fire and water dance together, creating a mesmerizing visual for evening entertaining. 

• The Kinetic Fire Globe: Perhaps the most breathtaking element—a massive, bronze-finished globe that not only serves as a monumental piece of art but also spins and doubles as a spectacular fire feature during Houston’s cooler evenings. 

Engineering Comfort: The Spa and the “Dry-Foot” Innovation 

Luxury is often found in the details that solve small problems. While many pool designs focus on the “wow” factor, this project focused heavily on user comfort and clever engineering. One of the most celebrated features of this pool is the innovative approach to spa access. 

We know that even in the heat of a Houston summer, there are crisp evenings when you crave the warmth of a raised spa. However, the trek across the pool deck can sometimes lead to wet feet and damp clothes. To solve this, we installed custom spa stepping stones. These strategically placed stones create a dry path of travel, allowing you to enter the spa area without ever stepping into the pool water. It is a small, thoughtful addition that elevates the entire experience from “standard” to “bespoke.”
