Valentines Day Pool Party

Valentine’s Day by the Pool

In Party Planning, Pool Tips by Platinum Pools

Whether it rains or shines, expect Valentine’s Day to be in the low 70°F.  So, get the decorations out and have the best pool party ever.  Here are some ideas to make the gathering a memorable one:

Planning Decorations

Simple decorations like red, white and pink balloons go well.  You can make a bunch and tie them together on a chair or on the fence.  This will add color to your backyard.   The LED lights in your pool also help a lot!  If your oasis has a lighting system that changes color, even better!  You don’t have to stick with just the red and pink lighting; pastel colors like mint green, lilac or even a pale yellow goes well.

When it comes to decorating the table, you can use a waterproof tablecloth in red, pink or a combination of both colors.  Remember, you can extend to a variety of pastel colors.  Make sure you can get waterproof tablecloths in solid colors, so you can use them for any occasion.

Planning Food

We all think about chocolate for Valentine’s Day.  Of course, you can put bowls of chocolate candies around the outdoor dining area.  In addition, there are treats that can be prepared in advance, like a heart-shaped jello with whipped cream and shaved dark chocolate, or the traditional party sandwiches, and brownies.  Or, if you’re in the mood for outdoor cooking, heart-shaped hamburgers are a hit at any Valentine’s Day pool party. For those who think that sushi is not for a Valentine’s Day pool party, think again.  An assorted sushi tray goes great for any Valentine’s Day pool party.

Prepare your Pool

Before you put up the décor and prepare the food, make sure your pool is clean and ready for your guests.  Test the chemical levels in your oasis and remove any debris, preferably in the morning time.  The last thing you want to do is wasting time removing the leaves from the water during your party.

Safety Comes First

It’s important to keep an eye on your guests, especially if any cocktails are going to be served.  Advise your guests that some areas around the pool get slippery, and to be careful.  Also, make sure you have a first aid kit available and something to induce breathing in case of an accident.

These are simple steps that help you in planning a great Valentine’s Day pool party, that everyone is sure to talk about. In additional to purchasing decorations, preparing food and ensuring your pool is ready, have fun! Enjoy your Valentine’s Day pool party and your guests are sure to follow suit.
