Pool Party

Time to Plan a Pool Party

In Party Planning by Platinum Pools

Many blogs will recommend how to organize a pool party. Pool parties for any occasion like Halloween, spring break, Mother’s Day, or even Christmas may be a good reason for gathering by the pool. The reality is that every party requires organization and preparation. Is the party for adults, children or both? How about safety?

If you are the owner of a new pool, get ready to have people over your home. It can be relatives, friends, or neighbors. Also, expect to have a lot of pool parties for the duration you have your oasis.

Here are some tips to help have a great pool party:

Poolside Bar

If your oasis has a swim-up bar, then congratulations. If you don’t have one, create one and hire a professional bartender who can create various delicious cocktails. For guests under the age of 21, ensure that soft drinks or alcohol-free mixes like a Shirley Temple, a Blackout, or a Virgin Piña Colada are also on the beverage menu.

Inflatables

Inflatables continue to be the rage of any pool party. These brightly colored inflatables provide the ultimate li-lo to chill out on as your guests float in the pool with a drink in hand.

Music

Many DJs out there can provide the perfect music for a pool party. Expect to listen to the latest songs or provide the DJ with a playlist of songs you want them to play. If you plan to have the event in the evening, expect them to bring light effects and, maybe even a smoke machine. If a disc jockey is not on the agenda, have a waterproof Bluetooth speaker connected to a phone or a music device can suffice.

Photo Booth

If you have the inflatables, then a photo booth is in order. Photo booths are one of the most requested services for any occasion. They’re not expensive and helps make your event different from the rest. Photo Booths are a great way to create lasting memories via a pool party.

Food

Your guests will get hungry after spending time in the pool. We mentioned barbecues and other snacks in past blogs. However, the possibilities for serving snacks are endless.

Here are a few recommendations that will make your party a hit:

Vegetable Dip

2 16 oz. of Sour Cream

2 Packets of Instant Vegetable Soup

In a large bowl, mix the two packets of the vegetable soup with the 32 ounces of sour cream thoroughly and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

French Onion Dip

2 16 oz. of Sour Cream

2 Packets of Instant French Onion Soup

In a large bowl, mix the two packets of the french onion soup with the 32 ounces of sour cream thoroughly and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

Party mix sandwiches are also great, even before making a barbecue:

Party Sandwiches

1 Large Container of Spread Cheese

2 Cans of Deviled Ham

1 Loaf of Sandwich Bread

Paper Towels

Cut the borders of the sandwich bread and set aside.

In a bowl, place the entire contents of the cheese spread and the deviled ham. Mix them thoroughly.

Spread the mixture on each slice of bread and place them together.

After making the sandwiches, cut them into squares or triangles. Put the sandwiches on a serving tray.

Take pieces of paper towel, wet and ring out the excess water and place them on top of the tray. Moist paper towels help keep the sandwiches fresh while in the refrigerator.

Put the sandwiches in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Also, fresh fruit cups with watermelon, cantaloupe, and white grapes are always a great hit at any pool party.

Decorations

It is important to emphasize that inflatables don’t fall under decorations. Your decorations should go with the season. Balloons, decorative cups, even beer holders, and plastic tables cloths can mark an occasion.

You can find all these decoration ideas at your local party store.

Stay Safe

Don’t forget that at any event you have by your swimming pool, safety comes first. Always have a first aid kit handy. If there are kids in a pool, have the adults take turns to keep an eye; it will help to keep everyone safe.
