Easter Pool Party

Early Planning for Your Easter Pool Party

In Party Planning by Platinum Pools

If the weather is excellent at Easter, you are in luck.  We are crazy about pool parties, and Easter is a reason to celebrate by the pool.  Wear a new bathing suit, and let the kids enjoy the day.  However, if you want to invite guests and relatives with children, you should come up with something to make it a memorable event.

Decorations

When we think of Easter, we think about the Easter Bunny, eggs, and chocolate.  But that’s not all you need for Easter decorations.  Pastel colors can also be part of the decoration.  If you are planning a soirée during the day, pastel balloons are great for decorating your swimming pool and can serve as souvenirs for the kids.  If your party takes place in the early evening, then LED with colorful lights is just the thing.

Your food spread deserves Easter decorations as well.  Plastic tablecloths with Easter motifs are essential for the occasion.  Small wicker or plastic baskets with sweets will serve as treats and souvenirs for the kids.  Baskets are an awesome look for the table, and you do not have to worry about storing them later.  You can also use candy bags with the Easter Bunny as decoration as an alternative to Easter baskets.

Another fun and easy idea for Easter decorations is to cut out cardboard in the shape of bunnies, eggs, or baskets and spread them around the garden.  These cardboard decorations do not take up much space, and you can reuse them every year.  You can save more time by using famous bunnies like Bugs Bunny, Oswald Rabbit, or Peter Rabbit.  These adorable characters usually come in a variety of products ranging from cups, and balloons to games like Pin the Tail on the bunny.

Food

We cannot forget that Easter is all about candy, chocolate, and sweet things.  If you want to serve candy bars at your party, place the bowl of candy bars on top of an ice-filled bowl to keep them from melting.

Sandwiches are another treat that kids and adults love to eat.  Provide a basket of assorted bags of French fries for party guests to enjoy with their sandwiches.  A cold cut and cheese tray with croissants or baguettes is ideal.

Don’t Forget the Drinks

Beverages include sodas, juices, and water.  If you want to do something different, a non-alcoholic sangria made from cranberry juice cocktails is a great alternative that you can pour into a dispenser.  If you serve the sangria in a dispenser, it’s easier for everyone to serve it without making a mess.

Party Favors

In addition to baskets or bags of goodies, why not give your guests something to remember?  If your guests are teenagers, t-shirts with a famous bunny are the coolest item of clothing they will like.  Keychains with small bunny figurines, a personalized Easter egg, or bunny ears are great for the kids.

Games

There are a wide variety of Easter-themed games you can find online.  But these two are ideal for both children and adults:

Make the Bunny

If you have any Easter eggs leftover, fill them with activities that will keep kids and adults moving.  Just take an egg, open it, and do what the message says.  Some examples of activities you can put in the eggs are the Bunny Hop or different types of dances.  This game is not only a fun and entertaining game for all ages but also a great way to stimulate a child’s creative imagination.

Egg Toss

All you need is a basket (or baskets) and empty Easter eggs for this game.  Place the baskets in the pool.  Have the kids and adults toss the eggs from outside into a basket.  The person who throws the most eggs into the basket wins.

When hosting pool parties, always remember that safety comes first.  Always provide adequate adult supervision and have your first aid kit ready.  In part two of our blog, we will present the water version of the Easter Scavenger Hunt.
